Technical Communications has been a fruitful and compelling module. Throughout the course of this ten weeks module, I have learnt how to write product summaries, to a full technical report and presentation, giving constructive criticism to classmates on their writings. This enabled us to learn the mistakes of others and not repeat it in our own writings.
In the first half before the trimester break, we had a chance to come up with our product summary and that was when we were tasked to do research and learn how to extract information correctly and effectively through the help of citation which is an important part of report writing.
Eventually moving on to the last four weeks, we were tasked to come up with a full technical report on improving a certain product that we mutually agreed on as a team. The experience of doing a group project was interesting and fun as the pace was slow and steady ensuring the progress is step by step.
We learnt of the expectations of writing as well as a presentation during the second half of the module and I must say it was an eye-opener. During the course of the project, we input what we learn throughout the module and put it into writings. We got a chance to do a presentation in front of our class but it’s a pity there is no mass presentation to look forward to.
Our professor guided us along the way and gave constructive feedback for us to improve along the way for both the writings and presentation. Honestly, I am thankful for this module as the class was engaging and interesting through the whole course and it was one of the modules I always look forward to.
